The year 2025 has witnessed a remarkable resurgence in the world of stone exhibitions, with a particular spotlight on the thin stone segment. Thin stone, known for its lightweight yet durable properties, has carved out a significant niche in the construction and design industries, and these exhibitions serve as a platform to showcase its latest advancements, applications, and trends.

1. The Global Stage for Thin Stone Innovation

1.1. China Xiamen International Stone Fair 2025

Kicking off the year’s stone – related events was the 25th China Xiamen International Stone Fair from March 16 – 19, 2025. This fair has long been a mecca for the global stone industry. In this edition, the thin stone exhibits were nothing short of spectacular. With over 2000 exhibitors hailing from 40 countries and regions, the fair was a melting pot of international stone craftsmanship.

Italian exhibitors, renowned for their high – end marble products, introduced ultra – thin marble slabs that were not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. These thin marble slabs, some as thin as 4 – 5 millimeters, were being promoted for use in high – end interior decoration projects, such as luxury hotels and penthouses. Their light weight made them easier to install on walls and ceilings, reducing the structural load while still maintaining the elegance and durability that marble is known for.

Domestic Chinese manufacturers also made their mark. They presented innovative thin stone products made from local stone resources, like granite – based thin slabs. These products were designed with an eye on the growing demand for sustainable and cost – effective building materials. Many of them incorporated advanced manufacturing techniques, such as precision cutting and surface treatment, to enhance the strength and appearance of the thin stones.
